How does Advance work?

Lactic acid bacteria ensure a rapid start to the preservation process. They quickly lower the pH to an optimal level, preventing spoilage.

Acetic acid bacteria then take over and produce acetic acid, which provides aerobic stability and long-term stability of the silage.

Enzymes partially break down the cell walls of the grass. This allows rumen bacteria quicker access to the cell contents, without losing the structure of the roughage. This ensures a gradual release of nutrients.

The starter nutrients support vigorous and rapid growth of the desired bacteria, making Advance immediately effective.

Advance is the first silage additive to be scientifically tested on a practical scale under Dutch conditions. Two identical silages, both from top-quality first-cut spring grass, were compared:
